Tinubu moves to stop FBI from releasing his records

In a bid to stop the United States of America’s investigation agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from releasing his alleged criminal records, numbering over 2, 500 pages, President
Bola Tinubu has dispatched a team of lawyers to the United States to team up with American lawyers to file an appeal to this effect.

Recall that PointblankNews.com had reported that the FBI promised to release the over 2,500page reports in October 2023.

It would be recalled also that in the wake of the affirmation of Tinubu as the validly elected President of Nigeria by the Presidential Election Petition Court a fortnight ago, Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election swiftly initiated a legal process praying the US District Court to prevail on CSU to make Tinubu’s records public.

Tinubu’s lawyers from Nigeria who are prepared to defend daylight murderers for the right fee believe in the possibility of bribing their way to realize their utopian dream by stopping the FBI from matching words with action.

Having made their pledge to instalmentally release the records, the intelligence agency should not forget that over 200 million Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora are eagerly waiting for the fulfillment of that promise.

Speaking with our correspondent, Deputy National Youth Leader of the PDP, Timothy Osadolor urged Tinubu’s lawyers to bury their heads in shame saying, “What are they afraid of? Do they think the systems in America are like what we have back here? Why would anyone who has nothing to fear be jittery like a terrified cat simply because a request about your academic records is made?

“We hereby remind them to be careful and allow justice to take its cause. We are not saying they shouldn’t feed fat from their billionaire client but it is the cause they are defending just and credible.”

Next week, the US District Court is expected to rule on whether or not, releasing Tinubu’s academic records amounts to an invasion of privacy.

Without preempting the court, this is hardly the case as Atiku is  relying on the provision of the Freedom of Information law to seek clarification on Tinubu’s records, who has a public officer must be above board.
