NSCDC Arrests Man with Firearm at Church in Plateau Community

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested a man allegedly in possession of a firearm within the premises of a church in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The arrest reportedly took place around 8:30 Am on Sunday during a routine patrol by NSCDC personnel in the vicinity of the church. The suspect, whose identity was not disclosed, was said to have been found carrying the firearm without any valid documentation or legal justification.
The development comes amid heightened security concerns in the area following recent attacks by gunmen in Bokkos, which resulted in the deaths of several residents.
A source told Pointblank News that the arrest raised tension among worshippers, considering the recent wave of violence in the community. Authorities have yet to confirm if the incident is linked to the earlier attacks.
Confirming the arrest, the spokesperson of the Plateau State Civil Defence Command, ASP NR Rimvyok, told journalists in  today Monday, 21st April, 2025 in Jos that the matter is under investigation and further details would be made available in due course.
