Troops Kill Dozens of Terrorists, Arrest 120 Suspects in Nationwide Operations — DHQ

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced that troops across various theatres of operation killed several terrorists, arrested over 120 suspects, and rescued 41 kidnapped persons within the last week.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Markus Kangye, disclosed this while briefing journalists in Abuja on Thursday. He said the operations were carried out between September 14 and September 22 in the North-East, North-West, North-Central, South-South and South-East.
According to Kangye, “In the North-East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai neutralised several Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states. They also apprehended 26 terrorist collaborators and rescued three kidnapped victims.”
He added that in the North-West, troops of Operation Fansan Yamma “killed terrorists in Kaduna, Zamfara, Katsina, Kebbi and Sokoto states, and rescued 14 kidnapped victims. A notorious terrorist, Mallam Abubakar Ahmadu, alongside six others, were apprehended during the operations.”
On the North-Central front, Kangye said troops of Operation Enduring Peace in Plateau and Kaduna States “apprehended 52 criminals, killed terrorists in firefights and rescued nine kidnapped victims.” Similarly, troops of Operation Whirl Stroke “killed criminals in Benue, Taraba, Kogi, Nasarawa and the FCT. They also apprehended 17 others, including a high-profile kidnapper, Saawuan Wuaiyolna, and rescued eight kidnapped victims.”
In the South-South, troops of Operation Delta Safe intercepted crude oil theft valued at N19.75 million, destroyed 16 illegal refining sites, arrested 19 suspects, and rescued five victims.
On the South-East operations, Kangye revealed: “Operation Udo Ka killed several criminals, arrested six suspects, rescued three kidnapped victims and recovered weapons, vehicles and improvised explosive device materials.”
The DHQ assured Nigerians that the armed forces remain committed to restoring peace and security across the country.
