INEC declares Kogi election inconclusive

The Nationa Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Kogi
state governorship elections conducted last Saturday following
cancellation of 25 polling units in 19 local government areas of the
state.

According to the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Mr Halilu
Pai, who is also the returning officer in the election, the margin of win
in excess between the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) is 41000, which he said is not up to canceled
votes.

Political party agents all expressed satisfactions on the INEC decision,
saying that it is in accordance with the electoral law of Nigeria.
