Youth believed to be supporters of James Faleke, running mate to the
late Abubakar Audu went out of control, attempting to attack him
Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the next
Saturday supplementary election in Kogi state .
Bello, who was second to late Audu at the APC primary that produced
the party’s governorship candidate for the inconclusive November 21
election, was picked last week Friday as party’s candidate for the
next Satuday election.
But late Audu running mate, James Faleke has insisted that the ticket
belongs to him.
The outbreak of violence at the headquarters of the APC in Abuja
occured about 2:48pm when Bello arrived the APC secretariat for a
meeting. It took the effort of security agents to smuggle Bello from
their midst.
About 1, 000 youths are at the secretariat of the party where APC
leaders are holding a meeting over the Kogi state election. They came
in buses marked ‘Dekina’, a local government area in the state.
