Former Borno state governor, Ali Modu Sheriff, has emerged the acting
national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Sheriff takes over from Uche Secondus who has been acting as chairman of
the party that lost power to the All Progressives Congress in March 2015
after a general election.
The PDP Spokesman, Olisa Metuh, also informed the media that there was
unanimous approval of Mr. Sheriff by all PDP organs. He added that the
decision would be communicated to the PDP Board of Trustees and the
National Executive Committee for ratification.
