The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the
September 10 election in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has made a
passionate appeal to Orhionmwon people to vote overwhelmingly for him on
the day of election.
He made this appeal on the party’s final tour of Orhionmwon Local
Government Area, his local government of origin. Speaking at separate
occasions in Okogbo, Oza and Omolua Igbanke, Pastor Ize-Iyamu said that
Orhionmwon people should see his governorship ambition as their own
ambition and thus commit themselves to voting for him, a hundred percent,
because he is their son. He stated that for the first, time an indigene of
Orhionmwon has the opportunity of becoming the governor of the state and
that the people should strive to make it possible by their uncommon
support.
Ize-Iyamu said this was an opportunity for the local government to have
one of their own in power to redress all the wrongs that have been done it
by successive administrations. He lamented that despite Orhionmwon being
the largest local government area in Edo State and that despite being an
oil and producing area; despite having the largest forest reserve in the
state, there has never been substantial investment by government to
improve the economic, infrastructure and human capital of the local
government. He promised to bring development commensurate to the
contribution of Orhionmwon.
Ize-Iyamu said that he was not seeking their support just because he is
their own but that he is best qualified and has the best plan for the
state.
Speaking on behalf of the enigie of the six autonomous clans of Igbanke,
the chairman of the Igbanke Council of Enigie, HRH Isaac Ogbeiwi Uwaifo,
said Ize-Iyamu is a son of Orhionmwon that they know and are proud of. He
assured him of their support. He thereafter led in a special prayer which
he said is to ensure his success.
Thereafter, the association of pastors of Igbanke prayed for Ize-Iyamu
while expressing their support.
Earlier at Oza, the Odionza of Oza with his Council of Elders had also
prayed for Ize-Iyamu while assuring him of the support of Oza Community.
Chief Dan Orbih, the PDP State Chairman who was in the campaign train
joined Ize-Iyamu in the appeal for maximum home support.
