A pastor (name withheld) with a new generation church allegedly murdered his beloved mother, Mrs Grace Anaka in Ifite Oraifite, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra state.
The incident happened early hours of today (Tuesday) at their family compound and the alleged murderer has gone into hiding.
A source under condition of anonymity told this journalist that the reason for the dastardly act had yet to be ascertained at the time of this publication.
However, Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Mohammed said it had not received such report of a pastor killing his mother.
“The police is not aware of a pastor killing his mother, but an incident of a man who killed his mother in that area.
“We are yet to make any arrest, but investigation has started,” he said
Mohammed said he only heard of a man from that community who killed his mother, not a pastor.
“That may be an impostor” he said.
He affirmed that police has begun full investigation of the matter to bring the culprit to book.
