A total 14 persons were today Killed when suspected Boko Haram members engage in a shootout with Joint Task Force (JTF) in Potiskum town, Yobe State. Military authority confirmed.
A Divisional Police Officer (DPO) In Charge of Potiskum town, Mohammed Garba and 13 other Suspected Boko Haram members were killed during the incident said Yobe State Joint Task Force (JTF) spokesman Lieutenant Eli Lazarus in a press statement.
Lazarus revealed that the militants attacked the Area Command office of the Nigerian Police in Potiskum, ” but the JTF reinforce promptly to repel the attack leading to the killing of three of the attackers while the DPO of the Area Mohammed Garba later died in the hospital as a result of gunshot injuries he sustained in the clash”.
” Ten other bodies of the hoodlums were carried away by the terrorists during the attack which started around 2 O’clock this morning” Lazarus said
An eye witness who was close to the scene of the incident said ” a commercial Bank ( Unity Bank) in the area as well as several vehicles were burnt during the attack”.
