The police has confirmed the abduction of Dr. Bala Saidu, a former Chief Medical Director (CMD), Specialist Hospital Yola in Adamawa State.
Saidu was kidnapped at his private medical facility, ‘Aisha Hospital’ located at Ngurore along Yola-Gombe Road by unknown gunmen on Monday.
Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, said the Medical Doctor was abducted at gunpoint while attending to patients at the hospital.
He further said that empty bullet shells were also recovered from the scene of the abduction, adding that the anti-kidnapping squad has since been deployed to rescue the victim.
“Our men found three used bullet canisters at the scene of the crime and we have immediately deployed men of the anti-kidnapping squad to rescue the abducted medical practitioner,” he added.
Three gunmen stormed the hospital located shortly after Magrib prayers and shot sporadically to scare away residents and herded the medical practitioner away.
