Chadian Opposition Leader, returns Home after 32 years Asylum in Nigeria

Former Chadian leader of the defunct opposition party FROLIANT,  Mohamat Abba Sayed, has returned home after 32 years Asylum in Nigeria

The 70  year Mohamat Sayed was requested to return home by the Chadian President Idriss Derby who sent a delegation to bring him back to Ndjamena the nations capital from Maiduguri, Borno state where he had been living for the past 32 years.

A delegation  led by Ambassador Abdaraman Mousa, who is the national mediator of Chad arrived Maiduguri International Airport today to take him back home without further delay.

Poinblanknews.com gathered tha sayed took refuge  with former civil war hero, Late General Mamman Shuwa, since he escaped from his country amidst turbulent political conflict in 1980 during the regime of former president Husseine Habre.

The ex opposition leader said  at the airport on his way back to his country’s capital, Ndjamena, that he would not go back to active politics, but would play an  advisory role to  younger politicians in Chad.

” All I want now is  to go back home not to join active politics but to play an advisory role to younger politicians in  Chad.” He said.

Borno state Deputy governor Zanna Umar Mustapha had received the Chadian delegation and promise to build on the existing cordial relationship between the people of the state and neighbouring Chad republic.
