Udom who made the appeal while commissioning the newly built 9.3km Aro -Umuejie-Osokwa-Omoba road in Osisioma Ngwa and Isiala Ngwa South LGAs, commended Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu for doing quality roads , stressing that he drove many kilometres from Obingwa LGA, a border area with Akwa Ibom State, to the commissioning ground in Osisioma Ngwa LGA without noticing any pothole.
He stated that the PDP Governors and family are proud of Ikpeazu’s achievement and urged him not to be distracted by criticisms.
According to the Akwa Ibom Governor; “I drove from Obingwa LGA to the commissioning ground in Osisioma Ngwa LGA without noticing any pothole. That can only be found in a PDP State. Be patient with Governor Ikpeazu. Better is the end of a thing than the beginning. So, when you said he was slow at the beginning; even aeroplane when it is taking off, it is not the same speed with when it is cruising. So, allow him to take off, balance in the air and start cruising and he will land well. In Africa,we don’t have the patience, our own is now, now.Even God did not create the whole world in one day. Development takes time, development can’t be done overnight.”
Udom disclosed that his administration in Akwa Ibom State constructed a 160 metres road linking Akwa Ibom State to Arochukwu in Abia State, noting that the road was abandoned since the 1970s.
In his address, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu explained the economic importance to the two states, as it grants access to many towns and States like Akwa Ibom and Cross River states.
He described Udom as a transgenerational leader, stressing that he had learnt from the Akwa Ibom State Governor, hence his invitation to him to commission the road.
Abia State Deputy Governor, Chief Ude Oko Chukwu, thanked Gov. Ikpeazu for constructing quality roads and urged residents to protect the road as its durability is assured.
