National chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ali Modu-Sheriff has restated his commitment to working towards the reunification of the party.
Sheriff told reporters in Portharcourt, the Rivers state capital during a thanks giving service for Governor Nyesom Wike that he bore no grudges against anybody, including those who worked against his emergence as national chairman, and will do everything possible to carry everybody along.
He said, as a leader, he does not enjoy the luxury of keeping malice, as such he has forgiven his detractors, knowing that some of their actions were part of the exercise of Democratic licence.
“I believe the PDP stands to benefit more when we put behind us all the disagreements of the past one week and work towards our goal of reuniting our members and positioning the party for the future”.
Senator Sheriff said his emergence seems to cause panic in the hands of those who have been trading with its fortunes and the opposition, because they know he is a go getter, and has the capacity to upturn the apple cart.
The PDP national chairman invited all those who have useful inputs to make towards repositioning the party to come forward without any hesitation no matter their disposition towards his leadership and join forces with him
. He stressed the need for a new spirit towards rebuilding the party, in which no individuals can determine the course of events without recourse to the feelings of the greater number if the party.
