BTC Secretary, Irabor, Denies Collecting N60m From Deposed Traditional Ruler

The Secretary of the Benin Traditional Council, (BTC), Frank Irabor, has denied collecting the sum of N60 million from the deposed Ohen of Okhoromi community, Edo State to suppress a press statement from appearing in the  public space.
Irabor and Evans Obasuyi Osazee were accused of collecting the sum of N60m from the deposed Ohen of Okhoromi community to suppress the publication of a press statement in respect of the deposition.
Irabor, who vehemently denied the allegations, in a statement issued and made available to newsmen in Benin described the allegation as baseless and without merit.
The BTC Secretary reaffirmed his commitment to upholding his integrity and dignity, just as he called on the relevant authorities to investigate and take necessary actions against individuals working to defame and dent his image using proxy names on social media platforms.
He demanded that the accusers with a proxy name “Sungley Xaint Dazi” and others making similar claims to provide concrete evidence(s) to substantiate their claims within seven days or face legal consequences.
He, said, “I am aware of the allegations made against me  and  Evans Obasuyi Osazee regarding the collection of N60 million from the deposed Ohen Okhoromi by a certain man using a proxy name Sungley Xaint Dazi and others making similar claims.
“I am categorically denying these heinous allegations and hereby assert that they are baseless and without merit. I therefore want to say that failure to provide evidence within Seven days will attract severe legal consequences” he warned.
Irabor noted that the allegations have the capacity to damage his reputation and integrity, including his official position in the great Benin kingdom. There’s be no word heard from the deposed community head. What the duo of Irabor and Obasuyi are being accused of are previous crimes in the ancient kingdom of Benin. The public expects a transparent handling of the  matter and  awaits what will become of this whole drama.
