Zamfara State Hisbah Commission says it has intercepted and destroyed large alcoholic drinks worth over fifty million naira from January to date.
The Permanent Commissioner in charge of Operations, Malam Usman Buhari Mai Jega made the disclosure to newsmen at hisbah headquarters in Gusau the state capital while parading the suspects and seizure they have made.
He said their men stormed the Top Down hotel following an intelligent report and arrested three commercial sex workers and their clients in their hotel rooms adding that over ten cartons of beer was intercepted at the hotel.
According to him, similar arrest was made from january to date at various places within the state in which they intercepted bear amount to over fifty million naira and was destroyed while the victims had been handed over to the court for necessary action
The Commissioner also assured to rid the state out of all forms criminalities and ensure that people are complaying with the Sharia legal system of the state.
The commission has also closed down a popular Hotel called Top Town Hotel situated along bypass Igala quarters in Gusau, the State capital.
He added that, the directive for the closure of the hotel was a result of constant complaints by the neighbouring residents of disturbance by the management of the said hotel.
He said they have already arrested the manager of the hotel, three women and three men, and they would be arraign before the court so that they could also be punished according to Islamic law as he is aiding and abetting adultery.
